Job Description: The United Arc is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented individual to provide support services based on program or service model with primary concern for health and safety of individuals and/or families being served, compliance with state and federal regulations, licensing and contracts to ensure quality program and service delivery, safety and security, respect for human rights, care coordination, and community relations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, in Social Work, Human Services or related discipline.

Direct Support – Amherst:

Job Description: The United Arc is seeking a dynamic and team-oriented individual to provide services for an active, energetic young man with autism living in Amherst who enjoys outdoor recreational activities.  Staff in this position will support him at home and in the community. Responsibilities include providing assistance in cooking, ADL skills, outdoor work, recreation, community involvement, and behavioral support. This position is either 20 or 40 hours per week depending on the applicant. Hours are flexible and may include late afternoons, evenings and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred, in Social Work, Human Services or related discipline.
  • Minimum three years’ experience working with families and individuals with special needs, with at least one-year supervisory experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision and recruitment as well as retention of qualified personnel.
  • Experience in community outreach and program oversight.

Direct Support Professional:

Job Description: The United Arc is seeking dynamic and team-oriented individuals to provide services for youth or adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential living situations or in the individual’s own home. Full time, part time and relief positions, (including second shift, overnight and weekend shifts), are available. Staff in these positions will enable the individuals we serve to have as much control as possible over his/her home, provide assistance in various areas including health maintenance, money management, shopping, cooking, ADL skills, socialization, establishing meaningful relationships and community involvement.

Clinician:

Job Description: The United Arc is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented individual to provide its clinical services. Primarily responsible for providing clinical services for the individuals and families we serve. Preparation and implementation of behavior plans, clinical assessments and services, participating in critical psychiatric appointments, attending required individual and team meetings, and providing training and support for staff, individuals, and caregivers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or related clinical disciplines; or within one year of attaining.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW),
  • Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or within three years of attaining.
  • Minimum two years’ experience working with families and individuals with special needs preferably in a nonprofit environment. Specific education/experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA),
  • Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA), development and implementation of behavior intervention plans, medication treatment plans, data collection and analysis and the oversight and training of staff regarding same.
